Contestant, Savy Shields from Arkansas won the crown of Miss America in Atlantic City.The Miss America 2017 pageant aired on September 11th, 9pm on ABC. 52 Contestants from all over the country including Puerto Rico competed for the prestigious title of Miss America.

The winner last night was Savy Shields. She is a 21 year old student from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her talent was Jazz dance, in which she preformed a routine to a song from the show "Smash" on NBC. Her platform this year was "Eat better, liver Better".

She wore a strapless black velour gown with a sweetheart neck line. In her on stage interview Gabby Douglas, asked her a question about Hillary Clinton." If you're trying to be leader of the free world everything you say and do matter. And all of your actions are held to a higher standard."
The winner of Miss America wins a $50,000 scholarship, a six figure salary, and an appearance agreement with Dick Clark productions throughout her year.
