On August 3rd the new Miss Teen USA was crowned in Las Vegas. The Miss Teen USA pageant was held in Las Vegas and 51 contestants from around the country competed for the title of Miss Teen USA. Miss Teen USA gets to live in New York City during her reign , travel , volunteer, model, do appearances and tons of other fabulous opportunities. It is a huge deal , and a dream come true for the winner!

| Karlie Hay, The new Miss Teen USA 2016 |
Miss Texas Teen USA, Karlie Hay was this years winner. After Karlie was crowned, old tweets that she tweeted resurfaced on social media. Her tweets included the "n" word. These tweets created a frenzy on social media, as people were expressing their outrage and disappointment with this years winner. She has since posted an apology on Instagram and also been doing TV interviews expressing her apologies regarding the tweets.
